Done! First trail race since ages (8 years!!)… first race in Grenoble, my new home. Only 13km but not easy race with 800m+ and muddy descents. More training needed!

C’est fait ! Notre premier trail depuis belle lurette (8 ans !!). Première compétition à Grenoble, notre nouveau demeure. Une courte course, mais pas facile avec 800m+ et descentes boueuses. Plus d’entrainment nécessaire.

Not my most flattering facial expression but it is how I looked as I dashed (or tried to) towards the finishing line of the 10km race. First race of 2024 and hopefully not the last one for 2024. It was the first race post-covid…a 4-year break. It was slower than what I did 2020 in the same race. Disappointed of course, but was super glad that we turned up for the race, on a freezing 🥶 morning of close to °C.

Ce n’était pas mon expression du visage la plus flatteuse mais voila à quoi je ressemblais lorsque je me suis élancée vers la ligne d’arrivée du course à pied de 10km. Le premier course de 2024 et que ce soit pas le dernier. C’est quand même le premier course post-Covid…une pause de 4 ans. Je suis plus lente ce fois ci par rapport au même course fait en 2020. Déçue, bien sûr, mais très contente qu’on a fait le 10km, un matin gelé.

Another day out exploring Grenoble. Came across a cat cafe, Café Neko. Among the 6 feline residents, we saw only 3.

The one that left the greatest impression was called Sir Alfred, a Sphynx cat. Furless, grey smooth skin of chamois texture with sparsely scattered small black spots, big eyes and ears, small triangular face, lanky legs and a long tail (reminds me of a rat’s tail). Not your typical next door neighbor’s kinda of cat.

Une autre journée à explorer Grenoble. Tombé sur un café pour chats, le Café Neko. Parmi les 6 résidents félins, nous n’en avons vu que 3.

Celui qui nous a le plus impressionnés s’appelle Sir Alfred, un chat Sphynx. Il n’a pas de fourrure, a une robe grise et lisse de texture chamois avec de petites taches noires éparses, de grands yeux et de grandes oreilles, un petit visage triangulaire, des pattes grêles et une longue queue effilée (qui me rappelle la queue d’un rat). Ce n’est pas le genre de chat typique d’à côté.

A good day to be out in the mountains. Cold, but sunny blue sky. Steep hills to burn the food from Marché de Noël. Grenoble reminds me of Hong Hong where one can easily get out of the hustle and bustle of a city and slip into the mountains in no time.

Un beau temps pour d’être dans les montagnes. Froid, mais ciel bleu ensoleillé. Des pentes raides pour brûler les calories des fêtes de la vieille. Grenoble me rappelle de Hong Hong où l’on peut s’évader facilement de la tohu-bohu de la ville et se ressourcer dans les montagnes.
